Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science that focuses on the understanding of human behavior by applying evidenced based practices to socially significant behaviors. ABA programs are customized to be beneficial for each individual that will build functional skills for patients and their families. In ABA the patient has a one on one therapist providing services. Therapy sessions will include intensive teaching trials to help your child reach developmental milestones. The therapist will be teaching communication skills, social skills, activities of daily living skills, and work on maladaptive behaviors that may interfere with learning. These skills are to be functionally used in their natural environment.
ABA is lead by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) that will assess and develop a treatment plan for the individual. That treatment plan is implemented by a registered behavior technician and overseen by the BCBA. Each treatment plan is individualized to fit your needs. The staff at Community Autism Intervention are happy to answer any questions you may have.
